Over the years, Chemainus has been a sports mecca with teams and individuals shining on the ball diamond, soccer pitch and ice. A number of hockey players have begun their careers in Chemainus and gone on to professional careers. Other athletes have made their marks on the basketball courts; some have flourished in figure skating competitions. And for the less competitive individuals seeking exercise and fellowship, the Chemainus area has an outstanding range of facilities for tennis players, swimmers, and pickleball players.
