Easy to get to, travel on the Island's main highway 1, just an hour north of Victoria, or 40 minutes south of Nanaimo. There is bus service to the town, as well as rail service between Victoria and the north Island, every day.

The closest airport is Cassidy (just south of Nanaimo)

Ferry terminals are in Nanaimo (Duke Point, and Departure Bay) OR in Victoria at Schwartz Bay.
