Thursday, August 21 is the big day for everyone in Chemainus awaiting the arrival of the town’s newest business.
No Frills, located in the former Chemainus Foods building on Willow Street in downtown Chemainus will open its doors to the public at 8 a.m. Thursday morning.
It will be a happy day for those living in the downtown area who will now be able to comfortably walk to a grocery store, something that has been missing since 2016 when Chemainus Foods went into receivership.
Dignitaries and community leaders expect to be present tomorrow to welcome No Frills to Chemainus. The store is located at 9790 Willow Street, across from Waterwheel Park.
The Chemainus store will be open from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. seven days a week. Most of the staff positions have been filled but No Frills is still looking for a few workers.
No Frills is a franchise operation owned by Loblaw with a local owner/operator running the business.
