Federal Election Candidates Invited to Chemainus Meeting

The five candidates in the running for the Cowichan-Malahat-Langford seat currently held by Alistair MacGregor have been invited to an all-candidates meeting on Tuesday, April 15 in Chemainus.

Final details of the meeting have yet to be arranged but the meeting will likely be held at the high school.

Election day is Monday, April 28.

The four candidates hoping to upset MacGregor, who has held the seat since 2015, are:

Blair Herbert (Liberal), Kathy Code (Green), Dagmar Goeschick (PPC), and Jeff Kibble (Conservative).

In 2021, MacGregor earned 42.8 per cent of the vote, with the Conservative’s Alana DeJong well back with 28.4 per cent. Blair Herbert was third with 16.4 per cent.

The Chemainus all-candidates meeting is being organized by the Chemainus Residents Association and will run for 90 minutes. Audience members will be given an opportunity to question the candidates.
